Ron and his wife Catherine first went to the Middle East as CBM Field Staff in 1992. After language learning, Ron was involved in theological education and sharing the gospel for 20 years until they returned to Canada in 2012. During their years in the Middle East, Ron and Catherine had four children who enjoyed and learned the culture and language. After their children completed high school and university in Canada, Ron and Catherine returned to the Middle East in 2020.
Ron’s current ministry has two focuses: theological education amongst the national churches and outreach. Over the past few years he has taught Christian history, hermeneutics, spiritual disciplines, and the pastoral letters. Ron’s second focus of outreach largely takes place online. Through a web chat he has many weekly opportunities to share the gospel with people asking questions about the Christian Scriptures or who are struggling with the various challenges of life. The country in which Ron serves is a sensitive region with a small and growing evangelical church that’s less than 0.1% of the population.
Ron was involved with IVCF serving international students at the University of Saskatchewan in the early 1980’s. He has a Master of Divinity from Tyndale Seminary (then OTS).
