Families in the rural areas of Mizque and Aiquile are often affected by infestation of vinchuca and are therefore at high risk of contracting Chagas disease. These families are also isolated from access to healthcare services and food supplies. This project funds the renovation of homes to reduce the risk of contracting Chagas disease. It also helps to raise awareness on disease prevention, conducts home visits, connects families in need with health services and advocates for greater awareness and attention to these needs at the municipal level.
