  • Pray for all LAC partners as they build on what they’ve learned with creation care initiatives.
Africa
  • Pray for peace in the DR Congo region and for God to bring an end to the ongoing conflict so that those involved may find a path to reconciliation and healing. Also pray for Andre Sibomana (Africa Team Leader) as he visits Canada this spring to speak at churches. Pray for stamina and grace as he engages with our Canadian partners and shares with our Baptist community.

  • Please pray for Ron Albinet’s (SENT 365 Field Staff) online Spiritual Formation course on Monday evenings. There are 16 students and four Monday evenings remaining. Pray that the Lord will prepare the hearts of the students and for Ron’s fluency with the Turkish language.
Asia
  • Praise Report: CBM’s 150th Anniversary in India was celebrated among the Soura Baptists on Feb 18. Between 80,000 to 90,000 faithful believers attended to praise and thank God for the gospel that has transformed their lives. Please pray for CBM’s continued partnership in India.
Latin America and the Caribbean
  • Pray for Kathryn Scott as she develops relationships with leaders and youth leaders. Pray for CBM’s partner IBAREDO as they work to empower this emerging generation of leaders. There is a significant group of youth leaders, and the challenge is to develop an effective strategy for youth discipleship.

  • Pray that each region will receive the weather conditions needed for farmers to have a bountiful harvest this year. Pray for the safety and provision of the displaced people in Goma (DR Congo) that they may find refuge, sustenance, and hope amidst the war.
Asia
  • Pray for good health and protection of our CBM staff in Asia as they go out to share God’s love in the field. Specifically, pray for peace in Manipur, India as many churches, seminaries, and Christians continue to suffer in this region.
Week ofMarch11
Week ofMarch18
MENA Region
  • Please continue to pray for peace in the Middle East and for greater stability in Lebanon.
Asia
  • Pray for peace in Myanmar. Here is an update on the situation from Field Staff, Lilian Yang: “(A) military coup, which occurred on Feb 1, has now been in effect for three years, and an additional six-month extension of the state of national emergency has just been declared. Furthermore, the authorities have announced a policy of conscription amidst ongoing civil wars. Young men aged 18-35 and women 18-27, particularly young men, will be compelled to serve as soldiers starting from April 2024. This announcement has caused widespread panic across the country, leading many young people to attempt to flee. There are long queues forming daily outside passport offices, with only 200 people allowed to apply for passports each day. The Thai embassy in Yangon is also full of visa applicants, limiting applicants to 400 people per day. Tragically, a stampede occurred at a passport office in Mandalay (second biggest city in Myanmar), resulting in two deaths.”
Latin America and the Caribbean
  • We are exploring training materials appropriate for the region around the integration of faith and work, as well as looking at current and possible income-generating opportunities. Pray that staff will identify potential training partners in their regions and for discernment as we collectively evaluate all resources available. Pray for our partners who want to help the local church to connect faith and work.
Africa
  • Pray for the humanitarian organizations struggling to meet the overwhelming need for resources and strength to care for those affected by conflicts in South Sudan and DR Congo. Pray for wisdom and compassion among political leaders in Rwanda and Kenya so that they may prioritize the well-being of civilians.
Latin America and the Caribbean
  • A recent team retreat (Feb 19-23) brought colleagues together from the Dominican Republic (DR), El Salvador, Guatemala, Bolivia, and Canada for team building, connections, and planning for the year ahead. Pray for continued collaboration as we share similar objectives, be it in different contexts. Also, CBM’s partner in Bolivia (UBB) will have elections for their director in March. Pray for continuity through any leadership transitions.
MENA Region
  • Please pray for the 100 pastors and leaders from the Egyptian Baptist churches who will attend the upcoming leadership development training from March 13-16. Pray for new insights and perspectives and that the churches will apply the knowledge and wisdom gained during this training to become more focused and effective as they serve their people and communities.
Asia
  • Pray for the ongoing projects in India, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Kazakhstan that through local churches, partnerships are strengthened and beneficiaries are empowered.
