Conventional agriculture across Akkar governorate and all of Lebanon has had significant negative impacts on the environment including pesticide pollution, deforestation, degradation of soil, water, and air. The project aims to collaborate with MERATH’s local partner, the Evangelical Baptist Church (EBC), to promote creation care in Rahbe village in Akkar governorate by creating an agroecological farm on a 3,000 m2 plot of land and applying climate smart sustainable agriculture practices. Project activities include educating and equipping EBC to successfully implement climate smart sustainable agricultural practices through a self-sustaining farming model that improves food availability and dietary diversity without harming the environment.
