CBM APPOINTS JONATHAN WILSON AS STRATEGIC ASSOCIATE
Mississauga, Ontario – Canadian Baptist Ministries (CBM) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Wilson as a Strategic Associate, effective July 1, 2018, in the role of Senior Associate for Theological Integration.
Rev. Dr. Wilson is a Teaching Fellow at Regent College and was formerly a tenured faculty member of Carey Theological Seminary (2006-2017), Acadia Divinity College (2003-2006) and Westmont College (1989 – 2003). He is also the author or editor of more than 15 books, including Why Church Matters: Worship, Ministry and Mission in Practice; God So Loved the World: A Christology for Disciples; Gospel Virtues: Practicing Faith, Hope, and Love in Uncertain Times; and God’s Good World: Reclaiming the Doctrine of Creation.
In his new role with CBM, Jonathan will provide direction on the integration of theology and practice through writing, teaching and speaking. He will focus on the practice of integral mission within the local church context, both locally and globally. Internationally he will help provide theological training alongside our church partners, helping to strengthen leaders and pastors in the Global South. Jonathan received his education from Welch College, Regent College, and Duke University. He is married to Soohwan Park, a native of South Korea, who is a consultant to NGOs as a specialist in relief and development. She has served internationally in Bangladesh, Thailand, and Israel. Her current focus is on visiting and encouraging local churches in Fukushima, Japan since the triple disaster in 2011. Jonathan is also an ordained minister with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada and he and Soohwan are active members of West Point Grey Baptist Church in Vancouver.
