CBM has been working in Cuba since 2010. Through our partnership with the Fraternity of Baptist Churches of Cuba, we support holistic, church-based ministries. Some of the projects include microcredit projects to support vulnerable families who want to start or develop a small business and leadership training on integral mission.
Though there are government restrictions on access to information and freedom of speech, the resilience of our partner churches in Cuba is astounding. Recently, a short-term mission participant asked a pastor of a local church what she felt were their greatest strengths. With much determination she held up her hands. ‘We have our hands. We built this church with our hands, and our hearts are turned toward the community. That is what we have.’
