CBM has worked in the Latin American country of Brazil for over 40 years in such areas as urban community development, evangelism and leadership training. Currently, we support Free Flight Association, a non-profit organization established by CBM Field Staff Joyce Hancock in 2004 in the municipality of Aguas Lindas de Goias. In this area there are high numbers of youth who don’t attend school and rampant unemployment.
Free Flight is working to improve the quality of life of adolescents, youth, and adults by providing professional training and activities to keep youth off the streets and give them incentives for the future. It also provides adults with developing professional skills and literacy. Equipping parents to find work in turn helps to improve the quality of life for the entire family. Courses offered at Free Flight include English, Spanish, computers, guitar, keyboard, literacy, sports, hairdressing and many others.
